I made my first camera at the Shipley Creative Arts Camp when I was 12 and used it to photograph shadows of playground equipment. My mother gave me a Pentax K1000 when I was 13. I made a backdrop for my brother out of a blue wool blanket and made him model. I developed my own film in a darkroom at 18. I interned at J.CREW when I was 20, suffered through many steamer burns but met the most inspiring people and learned to understand and focus my passions. I stayed on for several years as an editor for women's fashion. At 27 I had my first child and started building my own photography portfolio. My work has been seen in Martha Stewart Weddings, Elegant Bride, Modern Bride, Elle Decor and Matchbook Magazine. Clients have included Hickey Freeman, Adam, J. Hilburn, Lilly Pulitzer and Johnnie- O. At 36 I've never been happier. |
